Course Description
Spanish 203 is the third course of the Second-Year Spanish Language Program at the University of Washington. It is part of a sequence of three intermediate-level language courses (SPAN 201, SPAN 202, and SPAN 203) designed for those students who have completed the First-Year Spanish Language Program or its equivalent. This course aims to expand the oral and written communication skills acquired in earlier classes and to broaden students’ understanding of the cultures of the Spanish-speaking world, including the Hispanic/Latinx communities in the United States.
Spanish 203 is open to students who have completed Spanish 202, or scored a minimum of 5 in each of the four sections (reading, writing, listening and speaking) of the placement test and a score of 6 or higher either in writing or in speaking.
Students can register for the course until the 3rd day of the quarter, if space is available. There are no overloads in this course. For information on registration policies and procedures contact the Humanities Academic Services Center.
