Kent Kinzer received his B.A. from Indiana University where he focused primarily on Spanish, French, and International studies.  He is currently pursuing graduate studies in the Spanish and Portuguese deparment at UW.  During his undergraduate career he was an exchange student at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid, Spain and before moving to Seattle worked as an English language teaching assistant in a high school in Calais, France.  After finishing his Master's degree at UW, he also spent time in Cusco, Peru.  While both his Bachelor and Master's theses focused on the works of Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar, he is currently writing his doctoral thesis on monstrous bodies in contemporary Latin American narrative.  He is also an avid fan of Brazilian language and culture and has spent time in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil.  

Kent has taught both Spanish and Portuguese courses during his time at UW.
