Outstanding news! Tatiana Miranda Benavides, who just completed her MA in Spanish, was recently selected to receive the Grad School's prestigious 2025 Distinguished Thesis Award in the Humanities and Fine Arts category for her thesis Sueños y tiempo: Filosofía de María Zambrano en la poesía de Concha Méndez y la pintura de Remedios Varo (Dreams and Time: The Philosophy of María Zambrano in the Poetry of Concha Méndez and the Painting of Remedios Varo)! Tatiana's thesis was directed by Prof. Tony Geist.
Further, the Grad School will forward Tatiana's thesis to the Western Association of Graduate Schools' "Distinguished Thesis Award (non-STEM) competition" as the UW's institutional nomination.
Tatiana is soon heading down to Stanford to complete her PhD. Best of luck, Tatiana—we'll miss you!
