Adafina: The Story Behind the Recipe

The origins of the word “adafina” are not exactly known. The more accepted interpretation is that it comes from the Spanish Arabic word addafína, which derives from the Classical Arabic word dafīnah meaning ‘hidden’ or ‘buried.’  Want to know more?  Check out the full story in the UW Stroum Center for Jewish Studies November 2014 e-news!
