Students who took Spanish or Portuguese in high school must take a Placement Test before being eligible to register for classes.
100-level Spanish Placement Test Score Ranges
|0-15 points:||Eligible for 101|
|16-44 points:||Eligible for 102|
|10-44 points AND two years of high school Spanish:||Eligible for 110|
|45-69 points:||Eligible for 103|
|70+:||Eligible for 201*|
*Students with scores of 70+ are also eligible to take the 200-level Spanish placement exam. Students must schedule an appointment with the Office of Educational Assessment in order to take the 200-level exam. It is important to note that it can take about 2 weeks for the 200-level Spanish placement exams to be graded and posted to student records, and they are not graded during quarter breaks.
